Every once in a while, a recipe carries more than just delicious flavor—it carries a memory, a lesson, and a legacy.

Today’s feature recipe is one of those.
Many years ago, when I was a newlywed, I met a lovely woman named Lynn. She was the wife of my husband’s co-worker, and although we didn’t know each other well at first, she kindly took me under her wing. I didn’t even realize at the time just how much she was teaching me.

She gently passed on her homemaking wisdom—from creating a cozy home to the art of canning. And one summer afternoon, she taught me how to make blackberry jam.​

I had never made jam before. But she guided me step by step, using a beloved family recipe handed down from her mother-in-law. No pectin. Just simple ingredients and a whole lot of love.

It turned out beautifully. It still does.

🍞 Bread Machine for the Win!

Confession time… I still have the bread machine my mom gave me over 20 years ago—and I still use it!

Bread machines may not be trendy anymore, but I think they should be. Especially when they help make these!​
